Frank McGrath

The work concerns what the camera sees, any camera, any type of camera. My own interest has lain in surveillance and rather than in moving images, and it's serious nature, I have chosen to record and draw what goes on in a given space using very long exposure, in creating a single image, capturing all the light reflected off objects both moving and still onto the one image. In this I have created a compression of time that can be observed for as little or as long as desired.

Thesis: The camera as a drawing tool in the hand of Hiroshi Sugimoto.
